How to Exchange Your HGVC Timeshare

Since you do not own deeded property with Hilton, the HGVC Exchange process isn’t necessarily an exchange—instead, you are simply making reservations outside your home resort. Remember, what you actually own is a set of HGVC Points. When you purchase an HGVC resale, you are purchasing club points that come with a home resort and a fixed week, but you aren’t necessarily bound to either of these.

To exchange your fixed home week for reservations at another HGVC resort, the process is simple:

  1. Research which resort at which you want to vacation, and determine how many points your trip there will require.
  2. Contact an HGVC reservation specialist to request your reservation 9 to 12 months in advance.
  3. If your exchange results in a lower amount of points than your allotment, convert the extras to HHonors points to use on travel services and resort extras.
